"A writer - and, I believe, generally all persons - must think that whatever happens to him or her is a resource. All things have been given to us for a purpose, and an artist must feel this more intensely. All that happens to us including our humiliations, our misfortunes, our embarrassments, all is given to us as raw material, as clay, so that we may shape our art." - Jorge Luis Borges
This is the quote that Perth born artist and producer Skyuka lives by. Heralded as a captivating performer, her music is a fusion of electronic pop, trip hop, trap and synth sounds intertwined with soul vocals that melt into sweeping falsettos.

“There are so many stages of grief and it’s so unpredictable and I wanted this to be reflected in the track. It is also a low key dig
at people who tell you that you can’t do certain things because they like to put you in a box. I never want to be that kind of artist, I want to always remain true to how I feel the most
authentic expression of my narrative is…whether that be spoken word, rapping or singing.” Skyuka
Skyuka's latest track ‘The gold within my heart’ is a stripped back, heart felt pop ballad that hears Skyuka at her most vulnerable lyrically. It is about processing the confusion

‘When Your Light Is Low’ is the first single release from Skyuka.
’The idea came to Skyuka in a dream, on the birthday of a friend a few months after he passed away. It is a song that celebrates the person he was and serves as a reminder of the support we can show each other in times of darkness.
Skyuka’s eagerly anticipated debut music video “i wish i didn’t know your address” has landed. Known for her captivating stage presence and her nakedly honest lyrics, her latest release is a sassy pop tune with flavours of hip hop, jazz and soul with a theatrical, clever (and at times comical) video to match.
Skyuka's debut music video filmed by YS Productions.
